An Artist State of Mind

Being an artist in nature, means to be expressive, emotional, and to constantly shape our revolving reality. Essentially, we make something out of nothing; our detail is razor sharp, and sometimes we are too critical that it’s hypocrital. It’s not that an artist in nature chooses to be difficult or different, but our brains are constantly thinking of different ways to reinvent things, to use different mediums as different platforms, to challenge us. We are always trying to reinvent our craft, and if for some reason we get too comfortable with our creative wit, we would cease what we were destined to become.

On his blog yesterday, Kanye spoke true words from the heart in a post entited “Creativity.” His words made me appreciate that he understands what it is to be a true artist in nature. Although jumbled and random, his words found harmony and clarity of how an artist really feels; how excited and sporatic they are when they get a great idea, how productive and focused they are when they create something great with their own hands, and how proud and fulfilled they feel when they want to share that work with other people.

I can appreciate Kanye’s words spoken from the heart, and his drive to always evolve into something greater than he wants to be. All artists can relate to that.
