Champions
Lakers are the 2010 NBA Champions! This was a well deserved championship for the whole team. Dedication and hardwork, great execution and hard defense were all key factors in this championship journey. Everyone stepped up to the plate against the rivaled Celtics, and that’s why the Lakers are Back to Back Champions. LA all day!
Lakers vs Celtics – Game 5 NBA Finals 2010
This past Sunday I headed over to Boston for Game 5 of the 2010 NBA Finals. This was my first time at a Finals game, and also first time in Boston and at the Boston Garden. As a Laker fan I was definitely in the wrong neighborhood. All the Celtic green made me sick to [...]
Cotto vs Foreman
I had the opportunity to attend the Miguel Cotto – Yuri Foreman boxing match at Yankees Stadium, and it was a great experience. This match marked the first ever boxing match at the new Yankees Stadium, and the first match in the Bronx since Muhammad Ali fought Ken Norton for the heavyweight championship at the [...]
Lost Art of the Remix
I can remember a day when remixes were on B-Sides and carried the same tonality and title as it’s original counterpart, but sounded completely different and original in it’s own right. Just Blaze sheds light to why the radio is what it is today: Garbage. In the end it’s money that rips artistic expression away [...]
Yankees vs Angels
Last thursday I had attended the Yankees vs. Angels game, and it was my first visit to the new Yankees Stadium; the new stadium was amazing to say the least. Yankee Stadium, although new, holds years and years of Yankee history, and you can feel that captivation as you walk along it’s long halls.
Our [...]
Exercises for Gentleman
The reprinting of a century-old fitness manual — with exercises for men to do in their suits — inspires a fashion shoot inside The New York Times.
In 1908, something called the International Tract Society put out a slim exercise manual for working men that promised not hardened abs but “a graceful carriage.” “Flabby muscles,” the [...]
The Roots: Dilla Joints
If you’ve been hearing ?uestlove’s random releases of Dilla covers, then you know how dope it sounds to hear Dilla live. The Roots have covered a bunch more of Dilla beats, and have released an album for you to download. Perfect for that Easter BBQ.
Nujabes, Rest in Peace
It has been announced that Jun Seba, aka Nujabes, Japanese hip hop producer extraordinaire, passed away late February. Official statement from the label (in Japanese) here.
Nujabes was a one of a kind producer that I frequently listen to; his production blends puts me at ease, and his melodies are amazing. His talent will be missed [...]
8-Bit NYC
8-Bit NYC is a map created by Brett Camper, and is an attempt to make the city feel foreign yet familiar, smashing together two culturally common models of space: the lo-fi overhead world maps of 1980’s role-playing and adventure games, and the geographically accurate data that drives today’s web maps and GPS navigation.
I’ve always wanted [...]
The Event
Tonight at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium, the pound for pound best fighter in the world Manny Pacquiao defends his welterweight title for the first time against the bigger and stronger Joshua Clottey in a bout called “The Event.” Although we know the real “Event” includes Floyd Mayweather Jr., maybe the not-to-be-taken-so-lightly opponent in Josh [...]
Dam-Funk @ Bowery Ballroom
This appearance marked Dam-Funk’s first performance with a live band in NYC (according to PBW), and the “ambassador of boogie funk” turned the Bowery Ballroom into his very own Funkmosphere. Lazer lights, electronic voices, synthesizers and the chronic smoke-filled air all intensified the energy, the aura, that Dam-Funk projected single-handedly through is performance.
Prior to his [...]
Spike Jonze with Opening Ceremony
Spike Jonze interview with Carol and Humberto from Opening Ceremony tells a very inspiring and humble approach to a start up business that has become very successful in the past couple of years. Their approach is evident that a success can evolve from a strong foundation, friendship, and having fun; not all shops need to [...]
King of New York
Although I was born and raised on the west coast, ive always been a Biggie Smalls type of guy; not to take anything away from 2pac, because he definitely has impacted and inspired my outlook on this world as equally as Biggie, but I can remember being excited, going out and buying that Ready to [...]
NSW Pacquiao Destroyer Jacket
We are approaching the weekend of March 13th, the day of the Pacquiao vs. Clottey fight at Cowboys Stadium, and Manny has been making his rounds in the media to promote the fight. Last week Manny appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and talked a little Floyd, talked a little Clottey, and sung alot of George [...]

Kick in the Door
Spring/Summer 2010 is around the corner, and here are a few kicks worth looking for. Brands like Volta, Onitsuka for Asics, Vans, and Yeketen have come out swingin with their SS2010 lines.
An Artist State of Mind
Being an artist in nature, means to be expressive, emotional, and to constantly shape our revolving reality. Essentially, we make something out of nothing; our detail is razor sharp, and sometimes we are too critical that it’s hypocrital. It’s not that an artist in nature chooses to be difficult or different, but our brains are [...]
